At A&R, we value innovation and supreme customer service. Our headquarters boasts a 40,000 square foot fabrication and production workshop that provides the space needed to exceed our clients' construction expectations! We've dedicated 8,000 square feet to plumbing fabrication, 12,000 square feet to piping fabrication, and 24,000 square feet to metal fabrication. We have the ability to design a plan-in house and build it ahead of installation in our workshop, which saves time, money, and improves accuracy. This fab shop grants us the opportunity to design and create customized products without the need for external creation or shipment. We look forward to continuing to use this facility to serve our customers!
U of I Campus Instructional Facility
The University of Illinois is adding 122,000 square feet to their Campus Instructional Facility located at the corner of Springfield Avenue and Wright Street in Urbana. The U.S. Green Building Council has labeled this a LEED Gold project, as the new construction will help conserve energy and reduce long-term costs. Additions will include walls of smart glass windows that utilize light-controlling technology, over 23 classrooms, and seven collaborative work environments featuring special "test kitchen" layouts. This space will benefit students from various disciplines.
The project will cost approximately $75 million, and the Student Sustainability Committee is donating $250,000 to fund the facility's geothermal energy system. Construction is scheduled to begin in summer of 2020 and be completed in early 2021. Classes are planned to be held in the facility starting in the fall of 2021. The groundbreaking ceremony will be at the site on Friday, April 12th at 2 p.m.
