What Would You Do If Your Mechanical Systems Stopped Working?
A&R continues to build the future with quality, innovation, and safety! We are looking forward to continuing work on the following local projects:
U of I Design Center
The Siebel Center for Design is on track to become a hub of innovative thinking for University of Illinois students and will be located between Huff Hall on South 4th Street and the Art and Design Building on East Peabody Drive. This $48 million project will provide 60,000 new square feet to the current building and will be comprised of a collection of meeting areas, five collaboration studios with a 400-student capacity, one workshop for 3-D printing, metal fabrication, laser and water-jet cutting, computer-controlled machining, two audio and video recording studios, as well as a variety of galleries and prototyping spaces. Construction began on April 24, 2018, and is scheduled to be completed in February of 2020.
Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana is improving access and visibility to their entryway for patients and emergency staff. This $13.2 million project will add 20,000 square feet of new features including a garage and canopy for ambulance pick up and drop off. There will be two phases of work. The first phase will include first-floor concourse and breezeway expansion that will create space for a café, gift shop, chapel, and medical supply area. The second phase will redesign the Emergency Department entrance and will create separate ambulance and walk-in entrances, improving patient privacy and accessibility. Construction began in September of 2018 and is expected to be completed in early 2020.
